# Lia now logs into government and court portals for every firm

**A lot of a law firm's work never happens in the conversation with the client. It happens in portals: logging into the government site, finding the record, opening the case in the court system, downloading, reading and taking notes.** Lia does that work, and now for every firm that works with her. The capability is called RIA Act, and it is included with Lia, at no extra cost and, for now, with no usage limit.

## What RIA Act is

It is Lia working inside third-party systems at the firm's request. She opens her own browser, logs into the portal with the access that was authorized, looks things up, downloads the documents, reads them and sends the result back in the conversation, as a message and as a file.

The firm asks in plain language, on WhatsApp: "pull the contribution record for the client who messaged this morning" or "check whether a notice came out in this case". The task runs in the background. Meanwhile Lia keeps serving the other clients, and she reports back when it is done, usually within a few minutes.

**Software helps you do the work. Lia does the work.** She does not open a screen for someone to operate: she logs into the portal herself, does the task and delivers the result.

## What Lia delivers in the portals

Lia started with Brazil, where the firms she works for today depend on a handful of public portals. In the US and the UK, local portals are available on demand.

| Delivery | Where (Brazil) | With which access |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Social security contribution record pulled and read | Social security portal | The firm's electronic power of attorney, when it has one; otherwise the client's own government login |
| Social security file downloaded and summarized | Social security portal | The firm's electronic power of attorney, when it has one; otherwise the client's own government login |
| Case dossier: full record, latest decisions and summary | Electronic court systems | The attorney's digital certificate or court registration |
| Docket entries and notices | Electronic court systems | The attorney's digital certificate or court registration |
| Petition filed | Electronic court systems | The attorney's digital certificate, only after the attorney approves |
| Debt map and payroll loan statement | Central bank and payroll loan registries | The client's own government login |

Every delivery becomes a line in the firm's **Delivery Log**: date and time, what was done, who asked, in which system, whether it finished or is waiting for someone, and the evidence, such as the downloaded file and the filing number. Documents go to the client's folder, in Drive or in the system the firm already uses.

When the firm needs a site that is not on its list yet, the owner asks in the conversation and Lia sends the buttons to approve it. Without the owner's Yes, Lia's browser does not go in.

## How access is stored

- **The firm's own access** is registered by the firm itself, through a secure form, in a vault encrypted with the firm's own key.
- **The client's access** is registered by the client, with their consent on record. They authorize once, the authorization covers the tasks the firm asks for on their behalf, and they can revoke it at any time.
- **Lia never asks for a password by message.**
- **The password never passes through the AI model.** It is only unlocked at the moment it is typed into the portal, and no one on RIA's support team sees it.
- **Where an official power of attorney exists**, as in the social security portal, Lia uses that route first.
- **The attorney's digital certificate never leaves the firm's computer.**

Does the portal ask for an app code halfway through? Lia asks the person in the conversation and picks up where she stopped. The site's automatic security check, the captcha, she solves on her own, and she only calls someone at the firm if she cannot.

## What stays with the attorney

- **No petition is filed without approval.** An authorized person at the firm, identified by name and bar number, reads and approves that specific filing, and the approval is recorded in the Delivery Log with date, time and the digital fingerprint of the approved document. Until then, a draft is "ready for the attorney's review", not "ready to file".
- **The portal is the source.** Lia reads and summarizes, but deadlines, notices and amounts are checked by the attorney before any action. She gives no legal advice and promises no outcome.
- **The firm sets the scope.** In writing, the firm can limit Lia to lookups and downloads, with no filing, by system or by client.

## What it costs

RIA Act is included with Lia, at no extra cost and, for now, with no usage limit. There is no separate module to buy: the firm asks for it during onboarding, or later, and Lia starts working in the portals on its list.
